Celebrating Excellence at the 41st JETS Annual Graduation Ceremony

The ECWA Theological Seminary, Jos (JETS), proudly hosted its 41st Annual Graduation Ceremony on 14th December 2024, a day that marked academic achievements and celebrated individuals who have contributed significantly to the body of Christ, society, and beyond. Among the highlights of the event was the conferment of honorary doctoral degrees on seven distinguished individuals for their exemplary contributions to ministry, social engagement, advocacy, and leadership.

  1. Rev. Dr. Job A. Bagat
    Rev. Dr. Job A. Bagat was awarded the prestigious “Doctor of Divinity” during the just concluded ECWA Theological Seminary, Jos (JETS) 41st Annual Graduation Ceremony held on 14th December 2024.

Rev. Dr. Job A. Bagat, the ECWA President International (2024-Date), was born in Bondon District, Moro’a Chiefdom, Kaura L.G.A., Kaduna State. On 26th January 1980, he committed his life to the Lord Jesus, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to faith and service.
He is highly educated, having schooled both in Nigeria and South Africa, earning numerous awards. His professional background spans roles as a Physics Teacher and a Pastor, showcasing his versatility and commitment to both education and ministry.

Dr. Bagat is a prolific author and has attended several international seminars and conferences. He is a member of various professional bodies and serves as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Bingham University, Karu. He has contributed to more than 20 governing boards in various capacities. A firm advocate for peace, Dr. Bagat emphasizes the need to bridge the gap between the sacred and the secular.

With a passion for preaching, teaching, and research, Dr. Bagat is celebrated for his dedication to service. He has been married to Mrs. Caroline Ayuba Bagat for 32 years, and they are blessed with five biological children, alongside foster and spiritual children.

2. Rev. Ayuba Asheshe

Rev. Ayuba Asheshe received the honorary title of “Doctor of Divinity” during the *ECWA Theological Seminary, Jos (JETS) 41st Annual Graduation Ceremony

Rev. Ayuba Asheshe, the current General Secretary of ECWA, was born in Ukaya, Mafara District, Bassa L.G.A., Plateau State. He accepted salvation early in life and has devoted nearly 30 years to pastoral ministry, excelling in teaching, spiritual counseling, program management, evangelism, discipleship, volunteer training, congregational leadership, and community development.

An organized and dependable leader, Rev. Asheshe has a track record of successfully managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude toward achieving peace. Between 1994-2024, he served in several churches as a pastor, holding various leadership roles. He has also participated in numerous seminars and conferences locally and internationally.

Rev. Ayuba Asheshe is happily married to Mrs. Talatu Asheshe, a spirited, humorous, and talented confidante. Together, they are blessed with four daughters.


3. Apostle Arome Osayi

Apostle Arome Osayi was honored with the title of “Doctor of Missiology, Social Engagement, and Advocacy” .

Hailing from Benue State, Apostle Arome Osayi is the fifth of seven children. He graduated from Benue State University  and committed his life to Christ in the mid-1980s. Known for his unwavering trust in the Lord, he is dedicated to “Making Jesus Popular in His Generation.”

Apostle Arome Osayi founded the Remnant Christian Network (RCN), a global, interdenominational ministry headquartered in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. RCN focuses on restoring apostolic Christianity worldwide, with branches in Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Australia. The network also includes a theological seminary where he serves as Chancellor.

As a prolific author and sought-after speaker, Apostle Osayi travels extensively for conferences and crusades. He is married to Rev. Mrs. Dinna Osayi, and their union is blessed with three children.


4. Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara (FNIPR)
Honorable Jerry Joseph Damara received the honorary title of “Doctor of Missiology, Social Engagement, and Advocacy” .

Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara, a value-driven entrepreneur from Nigeria, is committed to providing sustainable solutions in areas like unemployment, commerce, housing, and agriculture. He spearheaded the creation of the Kugbo International Market, Africa’s largest market, set to launch in January 2025.

A fellow of multiple professional institutions, he has facilitated Foreign Direct Investments into Nigeria, including a 150-hectare rice project in Taraba State. Recognized locally and internationally, he is a recipient of numerous awards, including Honorary Citizenship of Georgia.

Hon. Damara is married to Mrs. Salama Jerry Joseph Damara, and they are blessed with three children.

5. Arch. Nuhu Yahaya Dikko (FNIA)
Architect Nuhu Yahaya Dikko was honored with the title of “Doctor of Missiology, Social Engagement, and Advocacy

Nuhu Yahaya Dikko
Born in Matazu LGA, Katsina State, Arch. Dikko graduated from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. A passionate architect and humanitarian, he has supported widows, orphans, and missionaries. He is a registered member of ARCON and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA).

Arch. Dikko has generously donated designs, plots, and buildings to churches and pastors. He is also dedicated to mentoring young architects and serves as an external examiner in architecture departments across Nigeria. He is married to Halima Nuhu Dikko, and they have three children.


6. Engr. Prof. Samson Duna (FNSE)
Engr. Prof. Samson Duna received the honorary title of “Doctor of Missiology, Social Engagement, and Advocacy“.

Engr. Prof. Samson Duna*
A renowned Professor of Civil Engineering, Engr. Prof. Samson Duna is the Director-General of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI). A prolific researcher with over 80 publications, he has supervised more than 200 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Engr. Prof. Duna has contributed to infrastructure development across Nigeria and is a recipient of several awards. Passionate about youth development and community service, he actively supports the Boys Brigade and assists the less privileged.

He is married to Dr. Mrs. Agatha Samson, and they are blessed with a happy family.

This ceremony stands as a testament to the Seminary’s commitment to recognizing individuals who embody Christian values and make significant societal contributions. We celebrate these awardees and pray for God’s continued blessings upon their lives and ministries.
